Tristan Herbert - Driver
World Challenge driving duties will be handled by Tristan Herbert.
Tristan is a natural competitor in everything that he does, ranging from professional snowboarding (member of the Budweiser Ariel Assault Team from 1998 to 2000) to racing cars. He began his track career in 1999 racing motorcycles and moved to cars in 2008. In the past two years of SCCA club racing Tristan has amassed 22 wins, 3 track records and the ITB championship in the Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series. In 2009 Tristan also drove to a hard earned 2nd place in one of the most nationally competitive events in the country, The American Road Race of Champions featured at Road Atlanta. Just recently he made his first Pro Racing debut in World Challenge at the streets of St. Petersburg where he captured the pole in qualifying, a track record and the touring class victory all in his first Pro rookie race.
David Tilton - Team Owner
David Tilton started racing Carts at the age of 6. He worked his way up through the racing series by competing in SCCA Solo Auto Crossing and HPDE events. In 2009 David teamed up with his brother, Lee Tilton, a Championship driver from the South SCCA Series. They competed in “One Lap of America”, racing at tracks like, Daytona, Talladega, and Sebring. In 2010 David completed the SCCA competition school, at Summit Point Raceway, and is currently competing in the SCCA DC MARRS Region.
Lee Tilton - Driver
Lee Tilton has been participating in various forms of racing over the years. He started racing dirt modifieds in the early 1990’s finishing 7th in points in his rookie year. In 2000 he began construction of a Factory Five Cobra replica. He successfully campaigned the car in the SCCA’s Gulf Coast Region running in the A Prepared autocross class. In 2003 he won the regional championship. The next car to arrive in the stable was a 1984 Zink Z-19 F500 formula car. Lee and his son competed in the F Modified autocross class setting several FTDs and winning three Trans-Louisiana Autocross Championship events. The car was converted to a Suzuki GSX-R 600cc powerplant with a custom made rear suspension. The car was eventually sold for hill climb events. Lee competed in the 2009 One Lap of America driving the Brimtek Motorsports 2005 supercharged Corvette with his brother David. Tracks visited included Sebring and Daytona. They finished 30th out of 66 cars in their rookie outing.
